How we are operating at this time
4/6/22 Top Dog is now back open to the public! We, the staff members, will still be wearing masks as a precaution. It is optional if you, our clients, would like to continue wearing a mask or not for check ins and outs. We always have extra on hand if you would like to wear one. We can't wait to see you!
12/1/2021 Top dog is still implementing our contactless curbside drop off. When coming in, please call (815) 832- 4619 to let us know that you are here and we will do the check in/check out over the phone. Please let us know how you would like to pay at the time of drop off. Please note that the Front Lobby is still closed off to the public at this time. A member of staff will be out with you shortly to receive/ surrender your pet in for grooming or boarding.

11/12/2020 Top dog is still continuing with our contactless drop off. With the spike in cases, we ask clients to again hold onto their own leashes and collars during curbside drop ins and pick ups. We will bring our own leashes out to get your pet. Staff will still check boardings in over the phone before coming to get your pet. We have a contactless chip reader for credit card payment with our square app. We also accept cash, check, and all major forms of credit cards. Please let us know how you would like to pay at the time of drop off. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at (815) 832-4619.
9/17/2020 Top dog is still implemeting our contactless drop off. When coming in, please call, and staff will be out to check your pet in for their grooming/boarding appointment. For our boarding drop off's, the check in's will be done over the phone. Staff will ask you questions about your pet's feeding schedule/rations, medication (if any), flea treatments, etc. Once that is all done, staff will come out to get your pet and their belongings. We have a contactless chip reader for credit card payment with our square app. We also accept cash, check, and all major forms of credit cards. 7/14/2020 Top dog is still implementing our contactless drop off. Call us at (815) 832-4619, and staff will come out to check your pet in. If you prefer to enter the enclosed area and drop your pet off we ask that you practice social distancing. Until we receive further notice, only staff members wearing masks are allowed in the facilty. If you have any questions or concerns please call us at (815) 832-4619.
5/2/20 Top dog has developed a new way to maintain the recommended 6 ft for social distancing. We have implemented a kennel up front that connects to the front door. This kennel helps maintain social distancing and is a safer way to bring us your pet. It's especially useful for energetic or timid dogs, we can still receive your dog at the car keeping a social distance, just call us at (815) 832-4619 or honk your horn. 4/27/20 Top Dog has developed policies for the protection of our workers and customers. We have provided training to all of our staff on how to sanitize with CDC recommended products (surfaces, equipment etc); as well as to how to use the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) necessary to check in, check out, as well as in our facilities. Also, employees will follow the recommendations of the CDC guide lines when it comes to social distancing for curbside check-ins and drop-offs of pets. Furthemore, social distancing will be applied between employees, and we will be checking in and out clients one by one. We have been following the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine page and getting information with COVID-19 recommendations for veterinary practices to adopt or implement on our practice and the IPPGA (Illinois Professional Pet Groomers Association) Standards and Guidelines.
This is our following protocols:
1.Start and end of the shift
2. Drop off and pick up dogs
3. Grooming and boarding work procedures
4. Clients curbside service for check In and release of a pet
Update 4/24/20 per last news' interview of 4/23/20, Governor Pritzker is allowing pet grooming salons to reopen starting May 1st. Also, Governor Pritzker will put into effect May 1st everyone has to wear a mask in public. We are ready to reopen groomings May 1st! When it comes to boarding and daycare, we are still following the CDC guidelines. As such, we will be doing curbside check ins and outs at your car. Per the guidelines, protective face masks,as well as gloves and protective gear will be worn by our staff during curbside check ins, check outs and at all times during working shifts. As well as gloves, and protective gear as a precaution to make sure you, your dog, as well as our staff can stay safe and healthy.
Here are the following steps when you come in:
1. Call us by phone at (815) 832-4619 to schedule boarding, boarding or daycare with us.
2. Pull into a parking spot and put your car in park.
3. Call us by phone at (815) 832-4619 to let us know you have arrived.
4. A staff member will come shortly after to receive your dog and your dog's belongings.
5. We ask you to hold onto your own leashes and collars, as we will bring out a leash of our own to bring your dog in. Rest assured, each leash we use is wiped down with alcohol and sanitized after each use.
6. When you are ready to pick up your dog, call us at (815) 832-4619 so we can prepare your dog's belongings and your dog for pick up.
7. When you are here call us by phone at (815) 832-4619 to let us know you are here.
8. A staff member will be out shortly with your dog, your dog's belongings, and your bill.
9. You can pay the bill either with check, card, or cash. We will accepted all. If in card, we would like you to pay over the phone and we will let you know if the transaction went through when we bring your dog out.

Updated as of 4/23/20 Gov. J. B Pritzker announced 4/23/20 that Animal grooming Services can reopen May 1 2020. We have also made improvements to our facilities during this time. Check out the improvements here!
Updated as of 4/17/20 At this time, we are closed for grooming until the order is lifted at the end of April. We are currently scheduling grooms for the month of May. If you have any questions feel, please free to call us and we can schedule an appointment.
