Boarding Policies

Our policies and procedures will ensure that you and your pet's experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If there is something that you feel would make your pet’s stay more comfortable, please feel free to call and discuss it with us. We will be happy to accommodate you if we can. Our goal is to make you and your pet’s stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible!

  • All dogs must enter and exit our facility on a leash and in full control of their pet owner or handler for the check-In or Check out process.

  • Owners will certify that their dogs are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days.

  • All canine guests must have up-to-date vaccinations and Owners must submit written proof of current vaccines: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and highly recommend Canine Influenza (combo). Since we highly recommend the Canine Influenza (combo), check with your veterinarian to see what they advise and follow their guidelines. Bordetella is recommended to be given to your dog at least two (2) weeks prior pet’s arrival date to increase efficacy. This vaccination against Canine Cough (Bordetella) might not normally be given unless your vet knows that your pet will be boarding, so please be sure that you request this vaccination. We accept proof of vaccinations from accredited veterinarians only. A receipt/certificate on a licensed veterinarian’s letterhead is required. We accept Titers, please consult your veterinarian if your pet has the immunity necessary to be boarder. If for health reasons your vet recommends  not administering a vaccine(s) to your pet, please bring a written weaver from your vet , this apply for dogs in grooming which the stay in short for the day. For boarding, all pets need to be update in vaccinations, to insure health protection during the boarding around other dogs. All vaccinations MUST be received  by us no less than 72 hours prior to your dog coming in for the first time.

  • To remain a flea free environment, we require your Dog/Cat to be treated with some form of monthly flea and tick treatment preventive at time of boarding. Up to date flea preventative is required for all pets. If your pet is not on a preventive at the time of boarding, we will provide and apply Frontline in-shop upon arrival at the owner's expenses. We accept only those products that have consistent flea control in our experience or products recommended by your vet. Most preventatives distributed by a veterinarian are accepted. Interceptor need to be combined with a topical product. We accept generic products that contain the same ingredients used in Frontline (fipronil). No products over the counter except generic products containing Fipronil. If any external parasites are present (fleas-ticks) your pet(s) will be treated accordingly and Owner will be responsible for those expenses. Please consult your veterinarian for more information about flea treatment options.

  • Top Dog will provide kennel beds (or "ramp"), beddings and bowls, and as such, we ask that owners leave these items at home. Your pet is welcome to bring a favorite bed or toys however, under the condition that the toy cannot be destroyed or swallowed by the pet while boarding. Please note that we cannot be responsible for lost and damaged items. We also reserve the right to remove or refuse to use ANY items that we feel might become a hazard to your pet while boarding. Please label all items left with the pet's name and the owner's last name in permanent marker and be aware that we cannot guarantee the condition of any items left in the facility while boarding.

  • Bordetella vaccine is like the flu shot (for humans) and does not immunize all dogs against all strains of canine cough. Top Dog makes no guarantees in regard to the Bordetella Vaccine.

  • Dogs in the same family are welcome to board together in the same kennel under the condition that they live in the same household AND get along at all times, especially when feeding. This is a safety policy- dogs that are not housed together on a daily basis can become highly reactive to each other when forced to do so in a confined-space/boarding situation. The same can happen with dogs that are routinely housed together and normally act friendly towards each-other. For this reason, if we notice ANY tensions or stress between dogs of the same family sharing the same kennel, we reserve the right to house them separately and charge at the individual boarding rate.

  • Care of Sick Boarders: We hope never happens, but if one of our boarders appears ill or if in our judgment your pet requires medical attention, Top Dog, in its sole discretion, may engage the services of a veterinarian or administer medicine, or special diet, or give other requisite attention to the pet and the expenses thereof shall be paid by the owner. By using our services, you give permission to Top Dog for any treatment deemed advisable by such veterinarian. If a problem arises, we will always try to reach you before taking any action. If we can’t contact you, we will contact your emergency contact to transport your pet. If in the event your emergency contact is unable to transport your pet, our staff will be happy to transport him/her for a transport fee (fee will be base of the location of the veterinarian or emergency veterinarian place ). Please appoint a person who can make decisions for you and your pet. Your emergency contact can help us make health care decisions for your pet. Top Dog Owner’s Agreement asks for you to provide us one or more emergency contacts that are authorized to make decisions for your pet if you cannot be reached. We also ask that you provide us with the phone number where you can be reached if an emergency arises while you are away.

  • Long term boarding requires payment up front for the first 14 days at the normal rate.  Daily discounted rates day 15 thru the end of the boarding month should be paid at the end of the boarding month. Then at the end of each boarding month there after.
