Bordetella (Canine Cough): annual booster or the intra-nasal Bordetella is required semi-annually. Depending on how often your dog is borded, you may wish to increase the frequency to twice a year. Please check with your vet regarding duration of immunity.
 
 * Please Note: Bordetella (Canine Cough), you may have to request that your Vet give your pet this vaccination as it is not on the state requirement list for all dogs. Drops in the nose (nasal vaccine) Bordetella is good for up to 6 months and then must be update. An injectable Bordetella is good for one year. Check with your vet as to wich one they give. Please try to have Bordetella preferably 15 days prior to being boarded to insure adequate protection, the vaccination needs this time to take effect in your dog's system.
 

Bodetella, also known as kennel cough, is analogous to the human flu shot and does not inmunize all dogs against all strains of canine cough, but, will protect your dog from getting a more serious infection. This vaccine is recommend for dogs when they visit: dog shows, kennels, dog daycares, grooming shops, veterinarian offices and hospitals as well as pet shops. Dogs can also be exposed while running loose or while being walked near other dogs or playing in the park.
